Welcome to my portfolio page
To the left is an example of the animation style I have been working on to give you an idea of the whiteboard animation style I’d love to utilise in this project.
I thought it important to include as the rest of my work is a selection of static and live illustration. I imagine that this style will develop naturally depending on the interests of the researcher I’m paired with - to reflect their own ideas.
Many thanks for your consideration of my application.
Live illustrating an ECR Networking event during the early stages of the pandemic for the Zepler Institute at Southampton University.
The event was hosted by Dr. Kerrianne Harrington, whose goal was to relieve the feeling of isolation for researchers and bring everyone from the institute together to share their work.
Following the successful ECR event, Dr. Harrington opened a competition for the best outreach poster designed by PhD students.
The winner was Leonard Budd who created a poster outlining his work on non-invasive and real time hollow core fibre characterisation. I absolutely loved working with Leonard, who was incredibly passionate about his work!
(Not to mention how useful a tool such of this would be in the creation of hollow core fibre!)
Live illustrating a Skill Swap workshop for artists and researchers hosted by researchers at the Physics Department of Bath University.
Showcasing a number of Optical technologies for disease diagnosis and development of 3D printed instrumentation, alongside photographers, printmakers, illustrators and designers!
Also devised by Dr. Harrington - who is incredibly passionate about outreach!
Following the outbreak of COVID-19 I worked with Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust on a histopathology manuscript relating to COVID-19 changes in the kidney as assessed using electron microscopy.
The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus pandemic has resulted in an urgent need to understand the pathophysiology of the infection, to assist in the identification of treatment strategies.
The paper was a collaborative effort by staff at a range of NHS foundation trusts.
I was asked by the group to help visualise the Cell trafficking pathways in one image, based on a collection of scientific scans, images and textbook drawings, some of which had never been visualised before.
You can read the paper in full here.
Live illustrating a two-day Dark Sky meeting focusing on the relationship between dark skies and society, hosted by Dr. Hannah Dalgleish at the Physics Department at the University of Oxford
Live illustrating sessions from NAM 2021 focusing on Transient Astrophysics, over zoom during the pandemic.
Commissioned by Dr. David Tsang, Theoretical Astrophysicist and Lecturer in Physics at the University of Bath.
I was asked to create a series of visual summaries of their Net Zero North Webinar series. As part of the N8 Research Partnership’s ambitious Net Zero North agenda, they have created a series of Net Zero North webinars, exploring how people and businesses in the North of England can support meeting climate targets.
Commissioned by Dr. Annette Bramley, Director at N8 Research Partnership. Professional Group Sound Therapist (BAST)
You can watch the Webinars here.
