Branded Illustrations for Oak National Academy’s New Online Curriculum

Two years ago I was contracted by the Department of Education as part of a small team of illustrators to illustrate the entire British curriculum.

It was a really fulfilling project to be a part of - particularly as I struggled with dyspraxia and dyslexia all through school - and would have loved to have had access with a system such as this when I was a student.

I don't think I would have believed you if you told teenage-me that one day I’d be working on a project like this, it was incredibly rewarding.

Check out their new online learning platform here.

“I had the absolute pleasure of working with Rae at the National Oak Academy, where she illustrated lessons based on my image requests.

Rae has an incredible ability to just get it — every illustration she produced came back more wonderful than I could ever have imagined.

She brought complex concepts to life with clarity and creativity, from the polymer lifecycle of a water bottle and an aluminium can, to making a public bike-sharing scheme feel real and engaging for students, and visualising reusable deodorant packaging in a way that was both accessible and memorable.

Thanks to Rae, my lessons became more accessible, more beautiful, and far more effective at embedding learning. I genuinely can’t imagine not having Rae on board — my lessons simply would not have been as powerful without her. She is bursting with creativity, ideas, and a clear love of illustration that shines through in every piece of work.”
