Understanding Creative Health in London

London Arts & Health asked me to come along to a number of community engagement sessions for those interested in the intersections of health and culture, as part of a larger report to inform the scale of the sector.

“Commissioned by GLA's Culture, Creative Industries and 24 Hour London Unit, the new report celebrates the pioneering people and projects changing the lives of Londoners through creativity across London. Through detailed research and interviews, Dr. Rebecca Gordon Nesbitt and London Arts and Health reveal the long and rich history of creative health in London.” - Link

London’s Creative Health Sector met on the 27th November 2023 at Battersea Arts Centre and also online via Zoom.

I was asked to illustrate a number of early meetings for the GLA and London Arts and Health in the run up to the event in Battersea, which was a place for those interested in the intersections of health and culture to come together and take part in a day of exchange and reflection, boundary pushing and action planning.

At the event I illustrated key concepts and talking points that were touched on and explored throughout the day, which we then adapted for use in their groundbreaking report on understanding creative health in London.

As part of the project I created a visual timeline draw-over animation to map out just how large the sector is
